Can you give us a bit of background on yourself? When did you join EY, where were you prior to joining, current role, etc.?

I joined EY July 2021, the same year as the Tokyo Olympics and the end of Britney Spears’ conservatorship (#FreeBritney). Coincidence? That’s for you to decide.

Prior to my career change into UX design, I managed the Board member experience at NYU while pursuing my MBA in tech product management at Stern. Before that, I taught English to elementary school students Taiwan on a Fulbright grant.

You were on a client engagement that required extensive travel, how did you best pass the flight time? A favorite podcast, book, playlist you would listen to?

During long flights to Dubai, I passed the time the following ways:

·      Dimension 20 DnD podcast on Dropout - A Crown of Candy

·      Videogames - Tears of the Kingdom

·      Greek mythology podcast – Let’s Talk About Myths Baby!

You’ve been working on creating stickers outside of working hours, what spurred you to get into sticker making? If those stickers were to form a band, what kind of music would they release?

I really love stickers as a form of artistic expression because the barrier of entry is so low - anyone can make them! I love being able to personalize the items in my house with stickers and give them away as gifts.

I’d like to think that if my stickers formed a band, they’d be a cool math rock band, like Elephant Gym. However, I think it’s likely they would disband after their first album, due to creative differences.

What is something people don’t know about you because the right question hasn’t gotten around to you yet?

In my free time, I like to take improv classes at UCB and go to shows. I started classes in January 2024, so it’s still something relatively new for me. Sometimes after work on Tuesday, I like to walk over to UCB’s theater in Union Square and watch the house teams perform. I highly recommend going to a show!

I’ve also been teaching myself how to play the banjo.

First concert? And favorite venue?

First concert was Crosby, Stills, Nash, & Young with my dad in 2009 during their Woodstock 40th anniversary concert in Bethel, New York.  Leslie West got married on stage, which was memorable. I don’t really have a favorite venue, so please recommend!

An artist or band that just doesn’t get the recognition you think they deserve?

I recently started listening to bluegrass music. Jesse Wells is a talented American singer songwriter and guitarist. While I enjoy popular music, I do think it’s a shame that so much of it lacks substance. I’m hopeful that more musicians like Jesse can create catchy tunes on a wide range of themes and world topics.

What song or artist do you find yourself always listening to?

I’m a huge Chappell Roan fan and have been listening to her since around 2021, after hearing “Pink Pony Club” for the first time. Currently, I’m listening to Pearly Drops’ album “Call for Help” on repeat. The whole album is great. My comfort album is “Art Angles” by Grimes.

Go to song to kick off a dance party?

Pink Pony Club by Chappell Roan!

Last question, you are the headliner of a concert, what band or song opens for you?

The sound of iced tea being stirred in a glass.
